Committee Involvement

The East Metro Board of REALTORS® is YOUR board. A great way to learn, contribute and have your voice heard is to participate on one of the committees. This can be done by volunteering your time and service to a committee of interest to you. Or, you may be invited to join a committee by a Committee Chair. Either way, be part of the process at EMBOR.

Brokers Council Reports to Immediate Past President

The Brokers Council is a self-governing advisory council for the Board of Directors made up of

EMBOR Broker members and/or Office Managers.

Community Service & Scholarship Committee Reports to VP of Communications & PR

The Community Service & Scholarship Committee promotes a positive image to the community as well as giving back to various programs, institutions and charitable organizations.

The Committee holds 2 annual fundraisers and the proceeds are donated to local community-
based organizations including: Newton & Rockdale Animal Controls, School Systems, Food Banks and Libraries.

The scholarship fund directly benefits qualified, graduating seniors from our local high schools.

Education Committee Reports to VP of Professional Development

The Education Committee oversees the education courses offered in the classroom and online, ensuring relevant and insightful classes to fulfill the needs of the membership and meet CE credit requirement guidelines through the Georgia Real Estate Commission.

The committee is responsible for planning the following year’s education courses in October.

Equal Opportunity Committee Reports to VP of Governmental Affairs

The Equal Opportunity Committee develops and recommends policy promoting equal opportunity in housing and diversity within the real estate industry.

Governmental Affairs & REALTOR® Political Action (RPAC) Committee Reports to VP of Governmental Affairs

The Governmental Affairs & RPAC Committee review public policy issues affecting the real estate industry. Issues of concern are forwarded to the Board for informational purposes and/or review.

The committee organizes an annual RPAC Fundraiser and attends local government meetings,

reporting back to the Board and Membership on issues directly impacting the REALTOR® community.

REALTOR® Involvement Committee Committee Reports to VP of Communications & PR

The REALTOR® Involvement Committee is responsible for planning, implementing and hosting special programs as directed by the Board of Directors. 

Recognitions Committee (Also known as Awards Committee) Reports to VP of Professional Development

The Recognitions Committee oversees the Million Dollar Club, Special Awards and recognitions as defined in the Awards Guidelines.  The Recognitions Committee accepts the MDC and Special Awards Applications on the first Friday in February as well as plans the annual Recognition Event held in March of every year.
